Chapter 1

Outside of Tunisia, Africa; June 10, 2013

The diggers were digging up the sand around the former research facility that Nazis were in control of. They already dug up of what was left of the depot and the other facilities around them they were still digging up the remainder main facility, pretty much the only thing they got was rubble but soon a digger hit something that was real strong and dig it up to reveal a door (the same one in the prologue) he tells his supervisor about. The supervisor runs over to a tent to talk to a white man with blonde hair and wearing archeological clothing.

Supervisor: (Speaks in Arabic)

Man: (British accent) What did he say?

Translator: He said that they found something.

Man: Let’s take a look.

The get out and goes to the door they found. The man inspects it.

Man: Well, it’s designed as a door but why would the Nazis have a door here?

Translator: Maybe something to hide treasure in?

Man: Would they be able to if there were so much marks here? It looks they’ve been trying to open this door.

Supervisor: (To one digger; Spoke in Arabic) Open it.

The digger tries to pry it open with a crowbar but it looked stronger than he thought he’s pushed with all of its strength until it broke.

Digger: (Spoke in Arabic, looks at the broken crowbar) Unbelievable.

Supervisor: (Spoke in Arabic, To another digger holding a pickaxe) You try.

The digger hits the door with the pickaxe after hitting it though, it left a mark but didn’t break and only sent a vibration through the pickaxe and to the person who was shaking after the hit.

Man: I believe we’re going to need something powerful and bigger if we’re going to open this.

Tanzania, Africa

Times changed when the world no longer had any trust in state armies and the restriction of foreign military interventions increases a need for PMCs (Private Military Companies). AT Corp (ArmsTech Security) now made a system of control called SOP (Sons of the Patriots) a system for governments to check and keep track of all soldiers in combat action. In 2012, it was rarity for state armies and PMCs but soon after it was proven and tested in combat all PMCs and state armies adopted its use. After the events of 2012, someone proposed the disbanded FOXHOUND to be reinstated. The US government feared of another rebellion but after months of debating the government reinstated FOXHOUND, putting it under a thin leash and was put under the US government and United Nations responsibilities and watch. FOXHOUND soon, became an international group with former military members joining from around the world especially civilians but it also merged with other groups such as the B.S.A.A and more. FOXHOUND is now directed against special threats like Metal Gears, bio-terrors, and even against hidden Patriot threats. Many of its groups consist of an army, air force, naval force, police force, anti-bio-terror group (B.S.A.A.), and many more. FOXHOUND was also one of the few organizations to deny using SOP or PMCs. After a few months though, they were still distrusted from the state armies as well as the UN and US government.

A UH-60 flies towards a FOXHOUND base; Meryl Campbell or Silverburgh as she now doesn’t want to bear her real father’s or uncle’s name. Meryl has been through some rough times and now the unit she’s in is her only family, Rat Patrol Team 01. Her squad members were Ed, the team’s radio op, sniper, and her second-in-command; Jonathan, and the team’s biggest joke of a soldier was Johnny Sasaki or Akiba as they like to call him. Meryl just finds Akiba really immature and inexperience to combat situation and second, his diarrhea is becoming quite a problem. The Black Hawk then reaches the base and lands in the airfield while she sees a man waiting for them. As it landed, the squad got out with their rucksacks.

Man: Meryl Campbell?

Meryl: (Sees the man walk up to her) Yeah?

Man: Chris Redfield, part of FOXHOUND’s B.S.A.A group. I was ordered to escort you to the command center to get briefed. The US Army’s CID has briefed you already?

Meryl: Yes, Redfield and don’t call me Campbell, it’s Silverburgh.

Chris: But…

Meryl: Are we clear on that?

Chris: Yeah.

He then sees Akiba run towards him grabbing onto his stomach, Meryl just turns away feeling Akiba is going to embarrass himself again.

Akiba: Excuse me, Mr. Redfield. Real big emergency…(Stomach growls) OOOOHH!! I need to the bathroom! NOW! Where is it!!!

Chris: Uh…SERGEANT!!

Sergeant: Yes, sir.

Chris: Escort…um…this man to the bathroom and make it quick before he explodes.

Sergeant: Yes, sir.

The FOXHOUND Army, sergeant leads to Johnny to the bathroom.

Chris: You men will be escorted to their quarters. Follow me.

Meryl and Chris were both walking off the airfield…

Meryl: So, FOXHOUND has really changed. No longer hiring any mercenaries to do dirty work.

Chris: This organization doesn’t trust the mercs. Seeing that they want money to score their own pleasure.

Meryl: And you guys don’t use SOP?

Chris: I guess they just want us to use our own experience not a controlled experience, I guess that could be the point.

The both of them walk inside a building and in a hallway.

Meryl: Why do the members wear their own traditional uniforms?

Chris: It depends which service they’re from like if they came from the Army, they wear the Army’s uniform but has to have a FOXHOUND Army logo.

Meryl: Civilians also join can you explain that.

Chris: It’s strictly voluntary for all of our members especially those that came from the services and even those that are civilians. Civilians don’t wear the uniforms, they’re allowed to wear any clothing they want as long as if fits policy but when they go out into the field they need to wear the combat gear. Civilians with experience are automatically put to the test to see if they need anymore training or not. Civilians with no experience are put through the training phase. FOXHOUND pretty much has lots of jobs for someone to do like being a mechanic, technician, intelligence, and maintenance. There’s many opportunities here.

Meryl: When it first started, it was all about black ops, now it’s becoming into a bigger organization, not only black ops.

Chris: Yeah.

Meryl: So, why did the organization let you B.S.A.A guys keep the name other than adding FOXHOUND first before it.

Chris: They were generous I guess but we still needed a logo. (Shows Meryl the FOXHOUND’s B.S.A.A logo on the right sleeve of his shirt.) (The logo shows a fox wearing a gas mask handling bio-hazard materials) So, what do you do while working for the Army’s CID (Criminal Investigations Command).

Meryl: I inspect PMCs and you guys just to see that you’re still the good guys.

They walked into an elevator as Chris pressed a number. The doors closed as they reached the floor the doors opened and they got out as they approached a door that reads command center. Chris slides in card into the card reader. The door opens and they go into the command center. Many people are seen working at a computer and others were looking at papers of intel. They walk up to a man wearing a desert MARPAT uniform (That’s the desert camo for the Marine Corps).

Chris: Uh…Colonel? This is Meryl Silverburgh. You needed to see her.

Colonel: Yeah, you can go now, Chris.

Chris: Yes, sir.

Chris leaves the command center while Meryl and the colonel go into the briefing room they both sat down at the table.

Colonel: The CID has already briefed me on what you’re doing here and also overlooking our operations as well.

Meryl: I see that you have done your homework. We just need to know how you done your operations. If you’ve done it by the book and all that, everything you guys do will be written in my report. I’ll also go out in the field with you guys just to be sure and I tend to have a good memory.

Colonel: As long as you’re not here to sabotage us. We already had enough Patriot spies coming here to destroy our operations.

Meryl: La-li-lu-le-lo? What?

Colonel: So, you don’t know. Don’t worry about it, then. You can also expect our full cooperation, too. If there’s a problem with any of my men then tell me about them and I’ll set them straight. Don’t worry you’re in good hands, now.

Meryl: Let’s hope so.

Colonel: Someone outside will escort you to your quarters. Your squad has already been lead to their quarters as well. (Takes four security cards out) These are your security cards. These will get you into unrestricted area but the areas you’re going to inspect you tell me about it and I’ll give the authorization. Well any questions?

Meryl: None that hasn’t come to mind.

Colonel: Good, hope you enjoy your stay.

Meryl got out of the command center and was walking back to the elevator until she accidently bumped into someone with a folder as papers flew out and dropped to the floor.

Meryl: Watch where you going!

Man: Sorry about that.

The man revealed himself to someone Meryl knows and she soon remembered who it was.

Meryl: Otacon?

Otacon: Meryl?

*huge grin* Chris Redfield with the BSAA FOXHOUND? Aww, hell yes. This looks to be one hell of a wild ride. I'm totally ready for this adventure if it's got those two on the same side. And then you throw in Otacon. HECK YES PLEASE.
