KH: Oblivion Chap.4

Chapter 4

Meryl and Chris went into a building as they went into the building in a SWAT fashion. Meryl moved in front as Chris covered her rear as they clear rooms they heard a scream upstairs. Chris moved up the stairs while Meryl covered as they both moved upstairs onto the floor. They kept hearing noises until they finally see a pair of rebels together. As one rebel handed to his comrades pen-shaped looking syringes.

Rebel Squad Leader: (Spoke in Swahili) It’s time.

The rebels the injected themselves with God only knows what into their necks then suddenly, they started feeling pain in themselves like they were suffering until after a few minutes later they stopped as if nothing ever happened to them.

Meryl: (Whispering to Chris) What just happened?

Chris: (Whispering) Who knows? But we can’t just sit here.

Meryl: You stay here. I’ll flank them.

Meryl moved to another door and got her Desert Eagle out of her holster, she flipped the safety off and aimed as she fired it at the squad leader’s head. This told Chris to get out of cover and shoot at the other rebels. To Meryl’s surprise the leader got right back up even after a headshot, he fired his AK at her as she got back into cover. Chris managed to kill two of the rebels but one was still up. He ran towards Chris but soon met his knife stabbed to his head, killing him. The leader reloaded giving Meryl the advantage. She shot at him some more until she threw his knife at him. It stabbed him in the torso area but did little to kill him. She charges at him giving him a punch to the face. She got the knife out of his body slashed at his throat. Blood seeped out of the wound and he fell dead.

Meryl: Got him.

Chris: Clear on my side, too.

Meryl goes over to the dropped syringes and picks one up. She reads the lettering, “Type 3 Plagas”.

Meryl: Type 3 Plagas?

Chris: Type 3, isn’t good news. It gives a host increased physical abilities. It comes from a gene of a control Plaga.

Meryl: How do you know so much?

Chris: I fought this virus before you did in Kijuju, Africa in 2009.

Meryl: I believe I heard. That was one of the world’s most talked news other than the Manhattan Incident.

Chris: The Plaga pretty much is based off the Las Plagas which is in the Kennedy Report. The only known Plagas is Type 2 or 3.

Meryl: So they have Uroburos and this Plaga thing, huh?

Chris: That’s our good guess in any case we have to be carful. I wonder how many more are there.

Meryl: Let’s hope we don’t run into anymore of those guys. The rendezvous isn’t far ahead. I hope the others have some luck than we are, right now.

Chris: Yeah.

Back with Snake

Snake looked on his map to see if he was getting to the rendezvous, yet. He still had a ways to go. He then heard series of gunshots and explosions going on. He goes over there and sees a FOXHOUND team under fire from other rebels. He watches from another point as sees one team of rebels trying to flank them. Snake got his M4 assault rifle w/ XM320 grenade launcher attached to it. He fires at the rebel squad as the bullets pierced their flesh and finished them off with his grenade launcher. He then meets up with the team under fire and approached their CO, who fired at them with a magnum as he saw Snake.

CO: Who the hell are you?

Snake: Codename: Solid Snake. We’re on the same side here, buddy. And you are?

CO: Barry Burton. We could use some real assistance right about now.

Snake: What’s the situation?

Barry: Apparently, the rebels have somehow got miraculously smart and manage to take down a few our guys. We tried calling in air support but the radio op is down. Someone has to go call it in.

Snake: I can do that.

Barry: Well, okay. (To other operatives) Covering fire!

Snake runs over to the dead radio op and takes his radio and talks through to the radio.

Command: We need an update on that request, please respond.

Snake: Requesting air support and reinforcements in sector W-5. Confirm?

Command: Confirm. Little Bird in en-route to your position. ETA, 5 minutes. Reinforcements will be there in 20.

Snake: Roger that.

Command: Be sure to mark enemy position with red smoke. I repeat red smoke, over.

Snake got off the radio and took a grenade out and throws it as far as he could throw it toward the enemy. Red smoke comes out of the grenade as the Little Bird helicopter flies over the area.

Little Bird Pilot: Little Bird, got your smoke. Taking hostiles down.

The copter fired its machine guns and missiles at the enemy, killing them in sight. As the smoke clears, all the rebels were killed.

Little Bird Pilot: Little Bird here, hostiles down. Going back to base to rearm and refuel. Have a good one.

The Little Bird leaves as the squad regroups. Snake heads on over.

Barry: Thanks, we would’ve been goners if you hadn’t shown up.

Snake: Don’t mention it.

Barry: So where you heading off to?

Snake: Nothing you should know.

Barry: Ah, I see now. You’re one of the special force guys.

Snake: You know what that means…

Barry: Yeah. I know. Anyway, thanks for your help. (To the squad) Alright, people you know the drill, set up here. Reinforcements will be here shortly to help us.

As Snake was about to move forward, a female medic wearing a cap walks up to him.

Medic: Hi, I’m Rebecca Chambers.

Snake: Part of the Medical Group?

Rebecca: Yep. I’m responsible for the squad’s health and any injuries they come by. Before you leave, I need to know if you need any wounds treated.

Snake: I’ll be fine, thanks for asking.

Rebecca: Ok, we’ll be here if you need anything.

Rebecca leaves off attending her duties as Snake moved on to the rendezvous point. He finally is relieved that he’s almost there.

Chris and Meryl reached the rendezvous point but Rat Patrol or the contact wasn’t in sight.

Chris: No one’s here.

Meryl: I guess we’re the first ones here. The contact isn’t here either.

Chris: I guess. We need to wait.

Suddenly, they saw rebels come out of hiding and ambushed the two. Meryl and Chris quickly got into cover and were taking the rebels down. Soon, they came in technicals and fired a .50 caliber machine gun at them. Meryl shoots off the gunner while Chris throws a grenade at the truck destroying it. They were soon getting surrounded…

A sniper aims from the balcony with his SVD rifle, he looks through the scope and aims at Meryl’s head. A man moves behind and tapped on his shoulder. The sniper looked behind him and his face met a punch to the face. He fell over the railing on the balcony and fell dead on the hard ground as he jumped on the ground and landed on it with style. The man faced the ground. As four other rebels surrounded him as the man slowly gets up while one rebel presses a gun to his head. Meryl recognized him…

Meryl: Snake?

Snake then grabbed the rebel’s pistol and whacked him the head while the three other rebels try to shoot him but he then grabbed one of their AKs and threw him to the ground. Snake pushed the front of the rifle into the rebel’s torso and whacked the other rebel with it. The rebel with tried taking Snake down the old fashion way but Snake used the rifle combined with the arts of CQC (Close Quarters Combat) and disarmed him. Snake then hit him in the torso area and broke the rebel’s neck, killing him. Snake turns around and recognized Meryl…

Snake: Meryl?

Meryl: Is it really you?

Snake: Well, I’m here standing so yeah, it’s me.

Chris: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold the phone here. You two know each other?

Snake: Well, duh…I met her during Shadow Moses.

Meryl: Years ago and you haven’t changed a bit.

Chris: (Whispers to Snake) Were you two, you know?

Snake: None of your business, whatsoever. (Remembers something) Wait a minute!! You two are my contact?!!

Meryl: You’re the contact?

Chris: Oh, the irony…

Snake: Just you two?!!

Meryl: Well, we came in a team but we were separated. I hope they find their way here, soon. (I hope Akiba doesn’t slow them down.)

Chris: Well, I guess, we just wait, then.
